Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! That was
the hymn I played a few moments ago to day. I just took some time out to
sit down at the piano and play. It was the first time I had played in a
while, so it was like getting a new treat as I stilled myself before my
Lord and began to play. I played several pieces, but the last one I
played is the one that really seemed to capture me, and still rings in
my ears as I write. I do not know the name of it, I think it is often
referred to as the doxology, and the beginning words are “Praise God
from whom all blessings flow.”
I was reminded after playing of just how
thankful I am to my Lord. First and for most for salvation, That He gave
Himself for me when I was yet a sinner. For I like all before they
believe in Him, and confess their sins, was straying from the way that
is safe. I was straying from that way that holds new eternal life. But
now by the Lord’s grace, and His great love, new life is mine. (John
3:16) I now have a new life, and a living hope, both in the time of
death when I leave this world, as well as in the present time. For
Christ truly changes ones out look when he or she receives Him. This I
have learned, and am continuing to learn as the moments and days go by.
For example, when I am angered, I have a
refuge, (Psalms 46:1) I can go to God and He directs my actions lest I
do something hurtful. Saying something that might cause inward pain to
someone else. It humbles me, keeping me meek. Thus making me a person
that others respect and appreciate. For example had I been full of
pride, I do not think I would be a co-owner of this site that you are
now reading this writing from. He gives me a song to sing. When things
go wrong, I know Christ The risen Lord is with me, and He has a plan for
me. Thus I am happy, even when I am in the midst of trials. In the midst
of tears, I have comfort, for my God He is with me. And His joy that is
now mine forever, is my strength. He is forever with me. And through out
all of life, I have rest and sweet peace in Him. (John 14:27) For again
I say my Lord is with me, (Psalms 23:4) And He shall be until the end of
time. (Matthew 28:19) Oh praise and thanks be to the Lord my savior and
King, who is also my friend now and forever more. (John 15:15)
